Two rulebooks share Minneapolis. Medical Alley's device makers answer to the FDA, whose quality system rule has incorporated ISO 13485 since the QMSR took effect on 2 February 2026. The FDA's guidance on predetermined change control plans lets a device maker agree in advance how an AI model may change after clearance. We think retail should borrow the idea. Write down which model changes ship on an eval score alone and which need sign-off before the first release, and the holiday freeze stops being a guess about what's safe to touch.

That plan is the first thing we deliver. We list every model and rule the system will run, sort each kind of change into automatic or approved, and tie each to the eval or audit record that proves it. For a device team the result maps onto design controls, and for a retailer it becomes the change calendar around peak.
