The Oregon Consumer Privacy Act took effect on 1 July 2024, and one right in it goes further than most state laws. A consumer can ask for the names of the specific third parties their data went to. PNSQC, the volunteer-run Pacific Northwest Software Quality Conference, has reached its 44th edition, held at the University Place Hotel beside Portland State. The Portland Python User Group meets on the last Thursday of most months in Big Pink on SW 5th Avenue, and PADNUG, the .NET group, holds a weekly Tuesday dinner it calls Portland Geek Dinner, moving between Tigard, Hillsboro and Beaverton.
