Software development for Denver companies

Two dashboards disagree with each other and a spreadsheet disagrees with both, and every fix waits for an engineer you haven't hired. Our senior engineers join your team and rebuild the pipelines underneath so the numbers reconcile and you can show where any figure came from. Denver puts that problem in satellite telemetry and the telecom networks run from Englewood and Broomfield, and an outdoor brand's order system meets it on a smaller scale.

Founded

2017, and still independent

Bench

115+ engineers, 80 Databricks-certified

Experience

Fifteen years average, per engineer

Serving

Denver, Boulder, Aurora, Lakewood

Aerospace, telecommunications and energy, with an outdoor and endurance sport industry that's a genuine sector here rather than a lifestyle note. If your data comes from satellites, networks, wells or athletes, it arrives at a volume where the model's answer has to cite what it read.

DatabricksTemporalAzure

TechFabric is a Databricks partner with an award-winning Databricks engineering team, 80 of them Databricks-certified, and a Temporal partner. Where a system reaches past the workspace we build on Azure, AWS and Google Cloud.

What software development covers

Web applications

Applications built to be changed safely years after the original team has moved on. That means tests that mean something, seams where the business logic can move, and a deployment nobody is afraid of.

Mobile applications

iOS and Android, built as products rather than as ports. The maintenance story is decided at the start, while it is still cheap.

APIs and integration

The seams between systems, done once and properly. Most of the expensive failures we are called into are integration failures wearing another name.

Data platforms

The layer underneath the application, on Databricks, Azure, AWS or Google Cloud. If the reporting and the application disagree, the platform is the reason.

Modernisation of what exists

Often the work arrives as something already built that has become hard to change. We would rather read it and tell you honestly whether it is worth keeping than sell a rewrite you may not need.

Durable, auditable workflows

Processes that take days, call several systems and must never half-complete. Getting that right is a different discipline from getting a request handler right, and it is where we spend most of our time.

App development in Denver

Aerospace, telecom and endurance sport produce apps that read from instruments and pipelines: a race-day app, a network operations console, a field data collector. We build the app and the pipeline underneath it so the numbers reconcile.

Mobile app development

Dynamics 365 consultants in Denver

Suppliers to Littleton and Centennial's spacecraft builders, energy service firms in the DJ Basin and Boulder's outdoor brands run Dynamics 365 Business Central for project costing, inventory and wholesale orders. We implement it with Dynamics 365 CRM and connect both to engineering, field and ecommerce systems, with Power BI reporting on top.

Export rules decide who reads the data

United Launch Alliance is headquartered in Centennial and Lockheed Martin Space builds satellites in Littleton, and their suppliers across the Denver metro hold export-controlled technical data. Under ITAR and the EAR, letting a foreign national read it counts as an export, even in an office on the Front Range. State administers one regime and Commerce the other, so table access is a legal question first.

Most data platforms grant access by role and project, and that's where export control breaks. A role says what someone does, while ITAR asks who they are, so access has to turn on attributes such as US person status and authorisation, resolved when the query runs. Copying controlled tables into a separate workspace feels safer, and then quietly drifts out of date.

We ask your export compliance team to classify the data before any pipeline runs, then encode each classification as a governed tag in Unity Catalog and write the policy against the tag. Nothing ships until a test shows an unauthorised account seeing nothing it shouldn't, and that test runs again every time the schema changes.

Clients we have done this for

Endurance sport runs on results from many timers and race organisers, and Athlinks needed more than 400 million athlete records from disparate sources stitched together. A Temporal pipeline with automated retries and real-time visibility does that join, for data that was never designed to meet.

Health & Wellness

AthlinksAthlinks

Athlinks had more than 400 million athlete records from sources that never agreed on who an athlete was, and a matching run that died halfway through couldn't just start again. Our engineers took the project from prototype to production as a serverless pipeline on AWS with Temporal holding the state. Failed steps now retry on their own, failures reach Slack as they happen, and the matching rules are tuned for each tier.

How an engagement runs

  1. 01

    A technical conversation

Not a sales call. An engineer, asking what you are trying to do, what has been tried and what it will actually take. Where the work needs them, product and design people join the same conversation.

  2. 02

    Two weeks, fixed fee

A short assessment ending in a written plan with a scope, a sequence and a number. You own the document whether or not you carry on with us.

  3. 03

Build with your team in the repo

Senior throughout, and no pyramid with one architect over a floor of juniors. The person in your standup is the person writing the code.

  4. 04

    Run it

We stay on the pager. Nobody designs a fragile thing they will personally be woken by, which is most of why this arrangement produces different software.

Two weeks, fixed fee, and a written plan whether or not you build it with us.

Tell an engineer what you want to build

A senior engineer reads it and replies within one business day, usually with the questions that decide the first two weeks.

A sentence or two is plenty, such as what it should do and what stands in the way today.

Goes straight to a senior engineer. By sending this you agree we can contact you about your enquiry, and occasionally about our work. Tell us to stop at any time and we will.

Around Denver

Denver's long-running developer rooms

The Denver Java Users Group has met since November 1995, usually at Oracle's office on Eldorado Boulevard in Broomfield. DevOpsDays Rockies has run in Denver for ten years and was last held at Bierstadt Lagerhaus in RiNo. ÜberConf, No Fluff Just Stuff's four-day conference, returns to the Westin Westminster from 13 to 16 July 2027, and Colorado Startup Week runs from The Link on 15th Street each September.

DevOpsDays and ÜberConf's architecture and Kubernetes tracks are where replay, reconciliation and on-call get discussed by the people who carry the pager. If you're commissioning the pipelines under a reporting platform, those are the habits to look for in whoever builds them. A failed load should replay and rebuild the view, and the numbers should reconcile without a weekend of manual fixes.

  • Conference · Annual, usually in September

    DevOpsDays Rockies (DevOpsDays Denver)

Ten years of talks on delivery and operations, useful when a system has to stay reliable while the team around it changes.

  • User group · Several evenings a month in the autumn, usually Tuesdays

    Denver Java Users Group

A lot of aerospace and telecom software is written in Java, and this group's evenings in Broomfield are where its maintainers compare notes.

FAQ

Software development in Denver: common questions

Do you work with Denver companies?

Yes, and with companies across the United States. Arizona does not observe daylight saving, so from November to March we are on the same clock as you and from March to November we are an hour behind. The working day overlaps almost completely.

Do you have an office in Denver?

The office is in Gilbert, Arizona, with teams in Amsterdam, Dnipro and Hyderabad. Delivery is remote or hybrid, and we travel for discovery, workshops and the opening weeks of a build.

Can you handle ITAR or EAR controlled technical data?

Access control has to be a legal boundary rather than a convenience, which means grants resolve at read time and nothing sits behind the application with broad access. We would want your compliance team to define the boundary and we build the system that holds it.

What kinds of custom software do you build?

Web applications, mobile applications, APIs and the data platforms underneath them. The work we do best is the sort that has to be governed and auditable, where a wrong write is expensive and somebody has to be able to explain afterwards what changed and why.

Do you take over an existing codebase?

Often, yes. A good part of the work arrives as something already built that has become hard to change. We would rather read it and tell you honestly whether it is worth keeping than sell you a rewrite you may not need.
