Do we need to be on Databricks or Dynamics 365?
No. Power BI reads most of what a business runs on, and the model work is the same whatever sits underneath. Databricks and Dynamics 365 are where we've gone deepest, so if you're on either of them some of the work is already done.
Why do two of our reports show different revenue?
Because each report carries its own definition, usually in a measure somebody wrote under deadline. The fix is one semantic model with the measure written once and agreed with whoever owns the number, and every report reading that model. It's the first thing the assessment finds and usually the first thing we rebuild.
Should we hire a Power BI developer instead?
If you have a model you trust and need more reports on it, hire. If the model is the problem, you want people who've built the semantic layer, the refresh and the security together before, and who'll leave your analysts able to extend it. We're glad to do the smaller piece first so you can judge us on it.
How does an engagement start?
With a two-to-three-week assessment at a fixed fee, which reads the estate and comes back with a written plan. It's a complete engagement on its own and the document is yours whether or not you continue.
