PCI scope grows quietly
Atlanta's Transaction Alley, the payment processors along GA 400 with Global Payments headquartered in Buckhead, runs under PCI DSS. Version 4's future-dated requirements became mandatory on 31 March 2025, among them targeted risk analyses and an authorised inventory of every script on a payment page. Any system that stores, processes or transmits card data is in scope, and so is anything connected to it.
Scope rarely grows through one big decision. It grows when someone adds a convenient integration, a reporting replica or a support tool that can see a card number, and each one widens what the assessor has to test. The cheapest PCI control is a system that never sees the data, so we'd rather tokenise at the edge and keep one narrow write path than defend ten services in an assessment.
We'd start with a data-flow map of every place a card number enters, rests or leaves, drawn in your QSA's terms so it can go straight into the scoping document. Then we mark what can be tokenised or moved out before any new service gets written. On a migration that order matters, because a warehouse copy of card data is in scope from the moment it lands.

The approval engine built for Auto Approve, a vehicle-refinance company working with a nationwide lender network, doubled monthly loans processed and replaced more than four manual workflows without hiring another agent. Anyone moving payments or credit wants that trade, more volume through a governed decision path with no more people on it.

Auto Approve
Auto Approve's loan agents were copying every refinance request by hand between the CRM, lender sites and Excel, a process that took two to three days. Our senior engineers worked hand in glove with Auto Approve's own IT staff to build the approval engine that automates it, and the company doubled the loans it processes each month without hiring more agents.

PyAtl meets on the second Thursday of each month at Manuel's Tavern in Poncey-Highland, and the Atlanta JavaScript Meetup rotates its talk nights between Tech Square ATL in Midtown, Downtown and Alpharetta. Civic Tech Atlanta holds its Civic Action Night at Tech Square ATL. Devnexus, started by the Atlanta Java Users Group, brings more than 1,500 developers to the Georgia World Congress Center in March 2027, and RenderATL comes to AmericasMart that August.
Java at Devnexus and JavaScript in Alpharetta also describe a common shape for payments and logistics software, a JVM service moving the money with a web front end on top. The JVM half is where retries, idempotency and end-of-day settlement live, and it's the half a rebuild most often gets wrong. Do you work with Atlanta companies?
Yes, and with companies across the United States. Arizona does not observe daylight saving, so we are two hours behind you from November to March and three hours behind from March to November. That leaves most of your afternoon overlapping our morning, which is usually enough.
Do you have an office in Atlanta?
The office is in Gilbert, Arizona, with teams in Amsterdam, Dnipro and Hyderabad. Delivery is remote or hybrid, and we travel for discovery, workshops and the opening weeks of a build.
Will this pull more of our estate into PCI scope?
The opposite is the goal. Keeping every mutation on one narrow governed path is what stops each new integration widening the scope, and it is the same architecture that makes the audit trail work. We would rather reduce what is in scope than add a service that quietly extends it.
